Kala Zeera (Black Cumins) is a high value herbaceous spice that grows wild in the high altitude forest areas of Kinnaur and collected by the locals in the form of matured seeds. It is worldwide known for its medicinal properties. To promote such natural products, Govt of HP has registered Kala Zeera under GI Act 1999 and has been allotted Registration No. 432.
